Yes, I know its firewood and it burns. But what is it? My 1st thought was some type of oak, but 2nd guess it as ash. Northeast Ohio Screenshot_20220331-183959_Facebook.jpg Screenshot_20220331-183817_Facebook.jpg

Im thinking Norway maple too. Bark on mature trees does resemble ash. Good firewood. Processes and seasons very similar to ash. The easiest of the maples to split IME. Wish i could score more.

1st thing in the morning I'll be heading out to pick it up. Well 1st thing for my son at 9:30. Thats almost 3 hrs after daylight, late for me. But the splitter and saw need fuel so it will give him some time.

Should have said from 5 trees. Mostly larger branches. So only one load. But the trailer was full and close to a full truck bed so a decent haul.
Going from a Yukon xl to a 1500 sure increased capacity.

You got a good pile. Go back for the hemlock. Hemlock is softwood but it's "good" softwood. Nice for shoulder season. Free is the best price.
