I'm glad she does the stacking!!! Most of the time when I stacked, it falls over! I don't have the knack and patience she does.
X2. After working with you the last few times im all for making smaller chunks too. I would wrestle average rounds but even then PITA to wrestle them and we're not getting any younger!
I've been widdling away at that big pile of Oak I got, I finally finished it up yesterday. Some of those huge pieces I had to quarter split by hand first before I could get them to the splitter. Man they were some heavy pieces. Chrissy still in the stacking process but it looks like we may have gotten a solid 3 cord from that load.
Na, the neighbors I do have are really nice and know what to expect when they see wood out there. I've had this routine for 30+ years, every year and not 1 complaint. Several years back though it when I found out the law because the "Code enforcement" official came by and told me I had 30 days to get it gone. He was a nice fella and didn't want to bust my balls, he was giving me the heads up "in case" someone did complain.
Do you have a hookaroon or cant hook? I find rolling rounds to the splitter is easier than flipping quarters. Glad you got it done and not injured. That will be some great heat.
Weld u up a platform like we built for the vertical splitter. Keeps rounds the height of the foot. Sure makes sliding them around to split easier.
What are the dimensions for that Jeff? Pipe size? My friend loves to kneel and split vertical when he and his other friend process wood. Now i understand its full purpose.
Yes!!! That's awesome and a great idea! Yes I am and I saw it on one of your other posts! I haven't forgot. I have to get 2" pipe for the height I need. My foot base is 1-3/4" thick then the hold base teeth.
I have to use 2" pipe to get it level on the base when it's vertical. Just measure the thickness of the foot on the splitter that'll get ya there.
