    This is what I need to try on a couple chains I have.
    My little 170 has a chain like that and it doesn't look like anyone makes a chain without the bumpers in 043 gauge.
    I also have the chain that came on the new 400 and it has the green link chain , I think Stihl has that as RS3 series. Why on earth would that saw come with that chain? The dealer did order me the standard RS series chain and told me to keep the one it came with but the safety bumpers need to go bye-bye![​IMG]

    I handled the 592 with a 28” light bar and it felt pretty light and balanced. No cutting demos

    Missed this and didn’t see it cause it’s in my [quote. ]’s.
    More metal in there does not help chip evacuation (i do noodle quite a bit). It adds unnecessary weight and sometimes gets in the way of the depth gauge/raker guide I use. I have the time and desire to turn it I to yellow/non safety chain.

    I find that a die grinder with a small burr bit makes quick work of them. Or my air pencil grinder.
