Nice , I looked at those & almost pulled the trigger on getting some.

It must of been a subliminal thing from hearing El’ Rushbo talk about them. Lol.

I have now tried a Java Mint Wafe & Java Red Wafe by Drew Estate.

I like the Mints, they would be a nice after dinner/supper treat. The Wafe was a new experience.

I found the Mints a bit more light & refreshing than the Reds, not that the Reds were unpleasant but probably best to have them with some alcohol.

I will be swinging thru today to check out Weston Tobacco & hopefully grabbing some of their Black Labels to try out.

My buddy likes the Mint ones. I periodically order some for him.

I probably won’t order the Wafes again but they are about all most places have.

Cigar Source in Des Moines had several different makes of the Mints but the online places, Iowa Cigar & Weston Tobacco are either Wafes or non at all.

Weston Tobacco had a nice selection & a very roomy humidor.

The are having a get together, see the flyer. If I am not planting I would like to venture down to
it. I missed the local Mountain Oyster Fry while I was at the my grand daughters birthday party.

I was throughly unimpressed with a Cuban Honey Drunken Truffle.

It had nice flavor on the lips but the smoke was atrocious & the burn was really uneven.

I haven't had mountain oysters for a long time. If you come down, maybe give me a jingle and I'll see what I'm doing maybe come up for a few hours.

Had Tabak Especial Colada Dulce today it was a pleasant experience.

I am pumping the brakes on purchasing cigars for awhile as I am pushing 400 now. I recently had a sleepless night & stumbled across the make an offer section. After comparing prices on 3 different sites & lowball bidding a bunch of 5packs, I got them all… :picard:

You have to try "cigarbid". It's saved some $$ over the years

I have looked at that site but if I get on there & have another restless night god only knows where that merry go round is going to stop. I may have to start moving furniture out to accommodate cigars…

Then Mama may be moving me out.

You went from zero to 400 in such a short time, I can understand that....

I took inventory a few months back and found out I had somewhere around 500. Seems I've bought them a bit faster than I smoked them!

The days of the really good deals are gone forever on cigar bid. It was not uncommon to grab some oliva 2nds (20 packs) for 11-14 bucks back then....and no taxes!

I still have a partial bundle of nicaraguan boutique overruns. I'll have maybe one a year; didn't care for them too much.

But those Oliva 2nds, I must have had 3-4 bundles of them back in the day.

99 lbs and I were just talking about how infrequently I'll have a cigar during the cold months. Probably once a month if that.

I had a Cuban Honeys Dr. Kocher yesterday it was ok, definitely a lot better than the Drunken Truffle.

I had a Havana Honeys Honey today it was nothing to write home about, I would put it below the Dr. Kocher & above the Drunken Truffle.

    All were petite coronas.

Cigarbid is definitely cheaper buying hygrometers & humidifiers.

My Cohiba’s came with the cedar shim, looks like my 5 Vegas & Gran Hobano’s are individually wrapped with cedar shims.

    These showed up today:

5 pack of Drew Estate Undercrown Connecticut Shade

10 pack of La Gloria Cubana Serie R Number 5

I gave one of each to a buddy to pass along to his father.

A nice stretch in the humidor helped out the Tatiana Cherry Cigarillos but they are still turds just a bit more flavorful turds…

Had a Cuban Honeys Vanilla today while working cattle, nothing special, seemed more suited for just chewing on the nub as opposed to smoking. I am not sure if the cow chit on my fingers helped or hurt the flavor, leaning more towards helped.

I checked the calibration on some of my hygrometers with a Boveda 75% calibration pack, 4 of my round digitals were all 4% low, all 4 read 71% instead of 75%, my 2 analog dial hygrometers were dead on.

The last 2 digital hygrometers are pretty much the same as the other 4 after 18 hours, 4% low.

    image.jpg

I am learning quickly that whatever a humidor claims it’s capacity is, figure it at maybe 65% -75% of that.
