Was cutting and piling up some Goldilocks oak today. Don’t like wasting time stacking rounds but was short on space due to logs dumped where I wish they hadn’t been. Also got a little steamy out there today.

We were out fixing fence in the farm & it was a bit warm. No in between season just goes from a foot of snow last Saturday to almost 70 degrees this Saturday.
Today is a steady diet of this monster crap. I swear I get angry just looking at it and even more so when it has crotches and big nasty knots. That’s a 24” bar for reference
Dang ! My body is thankful that I don't have to cut that big stuff ! Although....might be a good excuse to get the BIG saw I always wanted ! Pretty cool saw there too !
Yep, that'll slow down production for sure. I've been just setting those aside and make boiler wood when I have time.
Dunno how you have the patience for those Joe. Nice with no knots but gnarlies...ugh! I end up noodling them into nice "splits"
Don’t have much choice when they get dropped off. Having the tractor is a savior. I noodle them into 4 or so before hitting them with the tw6 and log lift
It’s always good to set goals to keep motivated. My spring break starts on 4/15 and I set my latest goal to have all of this wood processed by the end of break. Quite a few big logs in there. Most of what’s pictured is oak.
I'm hopeful but realistic. Finding help that can actually work has gotten exponentially harder in the last year
