Sunny and 39 at the moment with black cherry in the stove. It’s heading to the mid 40s today followed by a cold snap to start the week off, with lows in the teens. :jaw:

It snowed a little twice here yesterday. We were mulching a flowerbed to get some flowers covered for the next three nights hard freeze. It appeared like beanbag stuffing, round light puffs.

Was supposed to be a bit windy here but was not bad. More of the same predicted today. Temp dropped another degree.

Snow and 26 here currently with temps dropping throughout the day. Comfy and 68 inside with coffee brewing and red oak burnin'. I slept in this morning and didn't get the fire going until 0700.

+10° F. Here @8 am . Warming up fast. At least the thermometer is . But the sun is hitting straight on it.
    Beautiful blue sky !
Had a fkws fire going good in the stove. Have it corked off now so it doesn't get roasting hot in here. It takes the bod a while to acclimate to warm weather. It got up to 47° here yesterday.

One of our 4 footed road blocks. This was yesterday morning. Her yearling calf was behind me. They have been feeding alongside the winter road. I shut the truck down and just sat there. She walked right past the truck. Almost bumped the mirror.
A lot of times they don't think and just keep staggering along in front of us.
These 2 are the residents that have lived thru this winter. I hope they make it. They sometimes will wait till we have the dogs in the house then walk thru the yard. As long as they don't try to hurt us or the dogs, were good. It is Soo Good to see moose with their ears forward !
When winter was bad, their ears were back almost all the time.

Built a fire early this morning and then went to church and out to lunch with another couple. Got home around 1:30 and still good coals to get the fire going again. Temps are only in the upper 20's. Going to be a cooler week ahead and will continue to keep the fire going.

30/72 still cruising on some spruce and cherry from lunch time. Heading for mid teens tonight. I am going to scoop some ashes out shortly and load a few splits of something or another.

Just loaded a big spruce split and some maple and cherry. Wind is kicking up and still spitting snow.

34 w/ wind chills sitting at 24. Had to bring in more wood today. Tired of a wheel barrow here and there. Sitting in a 76 degree living room and it feels great. Although this was slated for burning next year. It’s plenty dry but I’ll have to do an assessment and make sure I have enough staged. The following season and beyond I have no worry at all.

After seeing your pics of the oak honey hole I don't think any of us doubt you won't be worrying. :stacker:

Pretty sure some of that dead standing wood will be ok by next year. I’ve already planned next Friday and the following Monday off work to start either bringing more home or splitting what I have. April wants to come in a bit colder that we hoped.
