The last pallet we had (I don't remember the brand was 5% sawdust. This pallet, Rocky Mountins has 1'2" splintr/shavings in it. Interesting.

Yeah, that whole getting past the auger is problematic. If it had been shredded, it would have gone thru happily :D

It's the start of breeding season Sam - I wouldn't get discouraged, they just got "other things to do" right now. :D They'll be back soon.

Saw a mixed flock of 35+ on the way to work the other day, Toms, Hens, and yearlings. All the Toms lined up at the edge of the road: keeping watch over the hens.

Hey for those over close to Dover, NH. 30 bags of LaCretes for $5/bag. Too far for me to travel.

The shoulder season is upon us here in the PAC NW
Weather has been lovely the past couple days.
Still needing some heat.....But yesterday we were running the little stove only and by about noon it was plenty warm in the house....SHUT THE STOVE OFF

By bed time at 10:30 it was down to 65 F in the house.....Started the little stove up again and went to bed.

This morning the West end (Where the little stove is) was barely 70 F and the family room and the East end was a bit cooler.....

Decided to fire up the Big Whitfield to get the chill off on the East end.

    Stove juggling season.

I cleaned the big stove really well the other day and that included the inner ash baffles...the vent pipe got brushed out and the inner exhaust passage behind the fire box....AND THE LBT

I had not done a "Super clean" for a fair amount of time.....After I finished it up I tossed a fire in it and went about my business.....Came back in 30 minutes and the fire was out....

    Hmmmm

Re-fired....I had left the heat setting too low and the fire was not quite hot enough to get the LOW TEMP SWITCH connected and the beast shut down.

The stove was partially warmed up so it took only a short time to get the low temp light on the panel illuminated...

    All good.

The stove drafts a bit different after a deep cleaning and the extra air flow just messes with the fire a bit.

This morning I set the heat setting on 5 (High) and within 15 minutes the low temp lamp was illuminated....
Then drop back to #4 ......

A few cold days coming up. Low-mid 20’s at night. May be the last hurrah.

Smokey, healing thoughts and prayers heading out to your better half. I have two close friends who have and are going through this and it's not very much fun. Please give her my best wishes.

This morning have 1 lone male out in the backyard. Keeps turning to face the woods, fans his tail feathers out and gobbles away. No takers apparently.
