We got a light dusting of snow that is only sticking on the grassy areas. Roads are just wet.

42 and grey. Burning kiln-dried cherry, walnut, bubinga and other exotic African hardwoods. You know—the usual.

Yesterday picked up the cutoffs from a local furniture maker. Not too much, but hey free BTUs and ready to burn (and sounded kinda fun).

My bigger CL score yesterday was the remnants of a part of someone’s deck. I’m building a woodshed this spring, and I’m aiming to use 100% sustainably sourced (translation: free ) materials.

The UP of MI had a big storm with most getting rain, then freezing rai and then snow. The fellow feeding deer said they got only 1/4 to 1/2" of ice before it turned to snow. Then they got 10" snow, so he fed the deer early.

The Mackinaw Bridge was completely closed yesterday but I don't know about today.

btw, he feeds hundreds of deer annually and does it legally. They are all wild deer too.

Dropped to 16 overnight. Right now it's 20/66 with a very bright beginning for the sun.

We have more than enough snow.
One of the school bus barns collapsed yesterday or the day before. There were 4 school busses inside. I don't think anyone was inside when it happened.

It's been blowing for goin on 24 hours here at the homestead. The drifts keep getting higher.
Temp in the teens and sunny.
Fire killed white and black spruce in the stove.

One spot in the UP finally reached 300" of snow. On the other side of the UP, the Soo locks opened this morning.

    +32°F ambient temperature here
    Winds calm now.
It got up to 40° in Delta Jct today.
Was hoping the warm temps would hold off for a while.
Fkws+fkbs in the stove closed as tight as it will go.

36 here now. A nice deep bed of coals from last night’s load. Placed a mix of Maple and Beech splits on top, that should get us through until late afternoon at these temps.
