Already? Wow. I'll have to sit out tonight to listen too them. :)

Robins are about and the bluebird is back. Little guy likes to peck at our windows for some odd reason??

10 day forecast I saw shows temps in the 50-66 range with a couple rainy days. Gonna start just using the stove overnight.

Saw a couple robins in the yard yesterday, no peepers yet. We've had bluebirds all winter, judging from a few chubby ones we figure they like our seed and mealworms. Had a dozen turkeys around the feeders Monday. Looks like most of the starlings have moved on only a couple showing up lately. Judging from the tracks in the soft ground lots of deer and rabbits pass thru at night. One of the trash cans was gotten into the other night so I guess raccoons are out. And as of yet no official smell of spring in NE- skunks.

So about an hour ago I see a line of turkeys coming across the back yard to the bird feeders on the side of the house

That's great to see Sam - looks like they fared the Winter well. They all look healthy, and hungry.

Not much going on here: except snow melt and a mushy driveway that's starting to firm up. (Work is busy as ever, same as always. Sigh.)

Still 'whittling away' at cleaning the 'Keebler Elf workshop' (aka: Porch room), new Burn Pot for the RV80 arrived today from the eBay seller, happy w/ the casting & finish on the replacement: looks factory/OEM. Exhaust sensor gasket for the RV80 arrived last week, planning on moving the Englander stove shell out this weekend, weather... & driveway "mud season" permitting.

    * Thanks for the 'spring pics' all - it gives 'hope' to us Northern folks.

Be good all, and if you can't ... don't get caught. :D

    Think Spring! Rob

Had 3 huge turkeys out there a few min ago, easily double the size of the ones in the pic. Went to grab my phone but they were going into the woods when I got to the window. Guess I'll be buying bigger bags of seed this year .

I live next to wetlands. A swamp by another name. :picard: The ice just went out a few days ago and it doesn't take long for the peepers to dig themselves out of the mud and start lookin' for love. If the weather holds I expect them in the next week or so.

The problem where I am is I am 1/4 mile from the ocean. This time of year we stay cool with a seabreeze. Yesterday it was 62 at 2pm and by 3 it was 49. Nice in the summer and fall but not so welcome in the spring!

Sorry, I had other plans that day :D

That is the nicest thing I've heard all week - and my boss informed me of my raise the other day, so you had some competition :)

To celebrate today, an Irish blessing:

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
    wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
    with joy that long endures.
    May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

    Happy St. Patrick's Day!

And now for the daily turkey report- about 20 today. Saw them coming down the hill in the woods, ran out to throw some seed down. They all stopped to watch me and as soon as I was done they all trotted right up and started pecking away.

That's neater'an chit. Turkey's would be cool to have coming around the yard.

Do they go for insects similar to chickens? Like eating ticks and whatnot?
