Morning All. Overcast with a chance of rain today. Watched some great curling games yesterday. Next weekend starts the Women Worlds curling championship. Between games I worked on bookkeeping. I am starting to see some organized paper piles on my desk. Would be nice to see the top of the desk again.

Off to work for the last four days before Spring Break.

Good morning! 42F and sunny. Big improvement over the last few days. Picked up a little over a half cord of mostly bucked wood Saturday morning (it was 16F then). Split about a face cord of older wood yesterday afternoon without wearing a jacket. I'm meeting my contact at a (new to me) tree service on my lunch today. Hopefully that will turn into a good partnership for both of us. I need to doing some cutting after work. I want to get through 1/2-3/4 of a cord of tree service wood and get it moved into storage in the processing center. That will free up most of the wood yard for future deliveries. Trying to take advantage of nice weather before the rainy season starts. Have a God day!

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY. 62° with rain and thunderstorms in New Orleans, don't know how much sightseeing will get done.
Went by the Superdome a few times
We went on a swamp boat tour yesterday afternoon. Hurricane Ida left a mess. This was a couple fronts built for movie scenes before that storm
Plenty of firewood if you could get it out...
Also saw a big cypress with eagle nest, chick hatched this year
Saw a great blue heron too
Several gators
We had been downtown, city still having vaxx card or - test / reservation to get in...
On the way to the swamp tour we saw a little corner shop
Mom and Pop store, very nice folks, we got shrimp po-boy. Just my half probably had 15-18 shrimp. We were glad the restaurants in the city were full.
This sign was over the counter...
They have 12 kids living, some help in the restaurant, 2 of their sons waited on us, wonderful manners. And she homeschools all of them. I think she and her husband have done a fine job. He is from Chicago.

 

Morning All. Yesterday our end of Vancouver Island had sunshine and wind. Rain set in after supper. It is too dark out there this morning to see what is going to happen today. Probably rain.

Good afternoon! 58F and mostly sunny. It was supposed to rain but it looks like we missed out. Our golden retriever has suffered from a bloody nose since Friday so we got him into the vet this morning. He recommends a scope to get a better look and maybe X rays. No vets in the area have the equipment. Also had a tech out to fix our internet so I didn't even get to work until 10:30. Did some cutting last night on tree service wood. I guess he doesn't have a tape measure so I got it evened up and stacked in racks, waiting at the back of the processing center for splitting. Going to visit a neighbor tonight who wants me to clean up tops in his woods. Free of course. I need to make a plan as the trees have been on the ground for more than a year. Have a God day!

 

Good afternoon everyone! Spring is here! Crocuses blooming.
I've been working on cleaning out garden beds.
Also, I got my first wood score of the spring, at the dump. Just poplar, but I like it for shoulder season. I took 3 car loads, left the crotches.

Mid 30's to start, heading to mid 50's and sunny.

I go back to the hand surgeon this morning. It's just my guess but I suspect my cast will be removed, x-rays taken, then another cast. We'll see.
