How many extension cords were mowed or weed whacked back in the day? We had a plug in whacker that ate a few of them.

I can end all this bickering! What did the Captain of a sailing ship say when the wind stopped blowing? :picard: "A lot of you Boy's are gonna look pretty tasty before long" Something has to make Electricity, Solar panels suck and I worked on a military project for 4 years of my life to some extent. NOTHING has the same bang for the buck as Petroleum, Gas, Fuel, Diesel. Batteries die and some skinny under nourished kid in Africa is mining the Cobalt, lithium, lead and tin for about 10 cents a day. Bet that makes everyone feel good! Solar panels are junk after about 20 years and only about 20% recyclable. You still need Plastics which are made, (from what) Oil and petroleum. All your EV cars have PLASTIC panels and what are they made from??? EV is a feel good Unicorn wonderland farting rainbows and with a fantasy that were all saving the planet which is complete BULL$#!T. By the way, what are the tires made of on the EV's? The narrative of "all Electric" is fine if it had a never ending source of electricity. THATS NOT HAPPENING, EVER! The power WILL go out! It's not if, it's when. I watch people go BATS#!T around here when it does. Look what happens in the cities, rapes, murders, looting, and so on. We are 200+ years from this magical all Electric world! It was tried in the 1960's and failed miserably. My home is testamant to that, ALL Electric. Right now if I ran my ALL Electric with base board heaters and kept the house at 68º, My electric bill would be $1000.00 a month! With my wood stove, it's about $250.00 on the coldest months. Does anyone THINK you electric car runs on FREE electricity? And what happens when we're all electric. WHO will control the price of electric? YEAH!!! That's right. They got you by the BALLS!!!

It's New Jersey! The Communist Socialist Republic of the mid Atlantic area! Does that sum it up Dave? Take, Take, Take, FREE, FREE, FREE, and I keep paying for it... Come on down, the beach is nice here, "If" you can afford to pay for it! Beach tags for the year are $25.00+ just to walk on what once was FREE! *Edit* Oh, I forgot to mention, Gas now is 4.99 a gallon and Beer is up 4 dollars a 30 pack since last week! Doe's that help?

Much of this will come to show itself off in 2024 because of the laws in California:
"California took another step toward its goal of ridding the state of all gas-powered engines thanks to a new bill signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Saturday.
The new law will ban the sale of all off-road, gas-powered engines, including generators, lawn equipment, pressure washers, chainsaws, weed trimmers, and even golf carts. Under the new law, these machines must be zero-emissions, meaning they will have to be either battery-powered or plug-in
The law will apply not only to gas-powered lawn equipment, but also to generators and emergency response equipment and other assorted categories. The bill does give regulators some leeway with the regulations based on what is found to be “technologically feasible,” so some portions of the regulation may be pushed back beyond 2024."
This law will either shine or wine!

Do I understand this right, you will need a generator run by electricity to produce electricity? HUH:loco: :loco:

So, during their rolling blackouts due to high demand in summer (which seems to be fairly common from news reports), one cannot generate their own electricity. If their infrastructure could handle the current demand (and then some), that would be one thing (regardless as to whether I agree with it or not), but it isn't even remotely practical.

That’s tempting Dave, but I’ll pass. Livin the dream here in my little corner of the Maine woods.

How’s the NH project coming along?

One thing that confuses me about that a little , when they get to wherever they are going they try and make that place just like the place they left. I am thinking why did you leave if you want what you had ?

Thanks for asking Dave. You (ARE) in a piece of heaven up there and I greatly respect that. And, might I add, Your pictures are absolutley breath taking. I wish I had moved years back but the US Military kinda squashed that. The land (is) ready for building! I spent a butt load of money to get the drive way and property stumped out. 2 acres completely cleared and 400ft of road/drive way finished off. The situation is; My original bid to have my place built was $259.000.00 Just built and turn key, that was before Inflation and Covid. The same house now, "Nothing changed" is $399.000.00 I spoke with the builder again last Monday and if anything, (due to fuel prices) I am now looking at $419.000.00. So, needless to say, I'm not starting over with a new mortgage at the age of 60. I had planned on selling here and going but I needed a place to store stuff and I actually went up to look for apartments in January and even 2 bedroom apt's were 1600 to 1800 a month! (IF YOU COULD FIND ONE)! So, I'll sit with what I already own until Something gives.
