Not really but the punky wood loving crawlin nasties were having a feast. Half dead, half alive tree. Paying job to take down this sugar maple. Some pruning with the pole saw, took a big side limb off, notched, back cut and "gentle" coaxing with wedges to get it over into the yard. I got the wood too. Crawlin nasty and adult. Sap was really flowing too. Finish nail sticking out. No other metal found. Good load. Still some rounds and barkless limb wood thats solid.
Yes. PU is now loaded with mostly dead limbs/punk to go to dump tomorrow morning. His yard was literally a swamp with thawed ground and run off so the top limbs still there. A lot of the limb wood was barkless and solid. I normally would toss it, but have a little mound saved at the cut. More pics tomorrow. The fresh pile of wood was from an oak he had taken down last month. Too dangerous for me to do. Ill be taking that wood to give to his father...random length tree service cut.
Most of the meat was good. I was concerned how bad it was at stump level when i felled it. Most of the dead limb wood was solid. Maybe a few pieces from the trunk will get discarded when i split it.
It sure was infested and eaten up. Probably a good time to have it taken down. That is nice to have a paying job and get the wood both. Then when you sell the wood, you get paid again. Congrats to you and your hard work.
I like the way that you have written chain and bar details on your scabbards with a permanent marker. I think I will copy that.
The battery one is okay for smaller under 2" stuff. You cant bear down on it or itll bog down and you have to pull out and restart. I had several dewalt batteries so i got that one bare tool for under $150 couple years ago. If i used one a lot id go gas powered...Stihl of course!
With multiple saws and bar length each has its own scabbard with it written on it. Makes it easier when i swap out or buy another chain.
