I'm sure I'm not the only one here, that while watching a tv show or movie, or an article on the internet, that can't help but notice the trees in the background, and find themselves identifying them or wondering what they are. It's a hoarder thing, most others wouldn't understand. I ran across this article today, and am wondering if the tree the nest is in, is a black locust? Geese cozy up in popular Decorah eagles' nest
Im thinking giant cottonwood too. Tried to zoom on the limb structure but couldnt. BL and CW commonly grow in the same location and ive been tricked thinking a cottonwood is BL. I do the same whatever in looking at be it the computer, TV etc. stihl kicking Drives her crazy. We were at the movies couple years back and one scene looked skyward and i whispered "pine and maple" as there was two tree limbs visible. Another scene Will Smith was chopping wood and i IDed it!
Giant Cottonwood, it must be. We don't really have them or big Black Locust around here. I was going off of some of your pics buZZsaw BRAD. I quit blurting out tree ids on movies and such, my wife just looks at me and says only you would notice that.. I also can't help but notice on shows that go way back in time, their splits of wood look just like today. That's one thing that will never change, as long as people burn with wood.
Oh yeah, cottonwood. Grows along creeks and rivers and can withstand being in standing water for weeks without killing it. It grows where geese and ducks like to nest.
My husband does that with old guns like in Westerns. I pause for him so he can walk over to the tv for a closer look, I know better than have to try to rewind LOL
