buZZsaw BRAD I have a weekly golf lesson year round as my coach explains a correct swing is a process. I tell him my touch around the greens is from swinging an 8# maul. Perhaps you need to consider lessons on swinging a maul in an effort to dial back the overstrikes breaking handles. Heck Fiskars might insist and send you a coach.
A wood splitting swing coach! I like it! Fiskars might post a video on how not to swing, featuring someone from here.
I remember i had to call six places two years ago when i bought mineā¦havent seen any lately to be honest
For some reason it won't let me post the link to Tractor Supply what the......? http://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/fiskars-maul-36-in-8-lb-1204454
I have to go to Guilford tomorrow. You want me to check Tractor Supply out there? If they have any I could grab you one. Just let me know.
None of the three Fiskars (two x27, one Isocore) ive broken were not from overswings. Just brute force i guess!
I git this one a TS. It was mislabeled at $36 when i bought it...why i bought it. Ill find a deal eventually.
Guilford??? Did you find a 400 at that new Stihl dealer? Thanks for the offer.Gonna use this one til it actually breaks. Ill try not to use it around your PU if were cutting together.
More than likely. Several years ago i bought a Craftsman fiberglass handled couble blade axe as i never owned one. Broke it within a week. Brought it back and they gave me a second one. I went back to a normal axe/maul. I have to use the sledge side to break a cast iron bathtub tomorrow. Wonder if itll survive?
I have a yellow plastic handled( of some sort) maul that is holding up very well. My dad bought it at least 30 years ago. It got used a ton until we got the mtd hydro splitter I inherited a few months ago. No, you can't borrow it. Lol
Make sure you wear goggles man. In fact, I wouldn't hestitate to wear a chainsaw helmet - because a) you have ear protection and b) face protection as well from the shards that could potentially come flying out. I wore goggles and ear plugs when I did mine.
Actually, dont laugh at the golf swing. When I split rounds, the pieces fall over. Instead of setting them up, I just whack the endgrain with a left or right handed swing, isocore. Its actually kinda fun, try a regular golf swing, do a back swing, hit those larger splits wherever they land and in whatever direction. Sca
