    This is gonna sound stupid, but I never knew people had to shovel/clean snow off their roof till I read it on this forum...and at first I thought yall were just BS'ing.....

    We have a ranch-style house with a shallow pitch roof. If I don't rake the snow off, ice dams can form causing water to back up under shingles. It's real around here.
