Village maintenance guy came by the house just as I was leaving for work this morning. He said someone dumped a couple loads at the tree pile and he thought it looked like there was some that would be good firewood. I told him I would take a look. Yep, good stuff! I called the stepson who also works with me and asked if the back of his pickup was empty and to meet me at the dump in 10 minutes. In less than 15 minutes we had everything we wanted loaded. All dead dry bark less elm.
Around here the only thing better than standing dead elm is a former standing dead elm cut into manageable pieces.
Even the stepson said “that’s the quickest we’ve ever got a load of wood”
We’ll get it cut to length and split in the morning then haul it out to the shop FA8DA6DB-92EC-4073-93DF-1E825EB13210.jpeg 5C11A380-54A1-490B-8971-F30B8A5CE7D3.jpeg EF09E1BA-E594-4261-BAB3-F3BA536FC2C2.jpeg

NICE! If it wasnt for dead elm i dont know what you would do for wood. Those quick grabs are the best. Nice you had an empty truck at your disposal and help to boot!

I've never had a quickie at a dump but you certainly got some great firewood quick and easy.
