Our Newest Family member (Reese) just turned 10 months Old. This pup is the biggest spoiled baby I have ever owned and she knows it! Yes she still thinks she is a 10 month old 83 pound lap dog.....

I would say you are right form a height perspective as she has reached about 25 inches tall which is about the breed standard. I’m guessing she will just start filling out more now.

We picked up these KuneKune pigs last weekend. They are castrated males and will be pets and hopefully help us rejuvenate the soil where we are clearing some of the forest for our sheep. No, we will not be eating them. We have plenty of local sources for humanely raised pork.

I would like to know how they do as pets. I read a lot, but didn't know anyone who has one for a pet. I always use a dog as the standard for a pet, but I know others who think otherwise.

Will keep you up to date. We've never had piglets before.

Feeling sad. One of my Himalayan cats became ill. First noticed a change in behavior about 4 pm Wednesday. By 6 pm, we were on our way to the emergency vet in Lewiston. They told me that his bladder was full and he couldn't pee. They then said he would need labs, catharized, IV over night stay, x ray. Then he would need to go to another vet to be hospitalized for a couple day. The cost for their care for the first 12 hrs would be just under 1200 dollars. I agreed and left him in their hands. At 11:30 pm, they called and said they had given him something for pain and catharized him, bloody, then off to x ray. At that time he passed away. Because they hadn't yet done some of the test, (busy) my cost was reduced. I asked for an individual cremation. Cost settled out between five and six hundred. This is the second cat I have taken there only to have him die once they have taken him in back.
It has been a rough year for us. Lost one cat to my son's dog last year, then my Molly passed with cancer, and now this.
I feed my cats cat food that cost twice was regular cat food cost. Specialized. I think I'll be looking for a brand that is specific for unitary tract health.
I have my new dog Riley. I also have three cats left. The cats are all the same family. I don't have bad feelings about the vet care. Today, vet care is so hard to get. Just have to rack it up to a lot of tough luck.

My condolences to you and Cindy for your loss savemoney . It is never easy to lose a furry friend, but especially difficult when you lose several in a short span of time. May it bring you comfort that kitty passed after his pain had been eased, so he knew peace at the end.

So I now have a reason to participate in this thread. We just picked up Roscoe yesterday. He’s an 8 month old Doberman with very documented blood lines (not that that matters to us). He’s very obedient.
I’ve wanted a Dobie for a long time but never was able or willing to pay the prices for a pure bred. The family that gave him up did. They are relocating to Fla and the lease they signed did not allow “aggressive” breeds. So they met us and we exchanged some moneys, and home we came!
