Nice score Brad. Did you get the OEM muffler from the guy? Prolly not as thirsty as the 500 but mine does have a drinking problem. If you have a good stihl shop you should have them plug it in and get the lowdown on the saw. Have fun. :saw::saw::saw:

You didn’t do good....you did real good! Sweet looking saw! Did you have to drive far to get it? Congrats brad, and can’t wait to see it in action and get your opinions on it!

I can think of lots of things I’d rather do than “using a 661 for everything”! Sounds painfully heavy:rofl:

I got a baggie with the OEM parts he took off. Jonesing to try it out but we got 2-3" of slop yesterday now frozen so may be a few days.

Why do you suggest bringing it in Steve? Wont the Mtronics automatically adjust? New muffler makes it suck down more gas?

Two hour round trip. I had a far out of town wood delivery "close by" so killed two birds with one stone.

Yes Brad it will be loud with the WCS "bark box" on it. So you got the skid plate, clutch cover, and the Bark box you might as well order the WCS air filter also. So now your Stihl collection is a 261,028,361,400,500I right? Do you have a 462 also? Well on your way to the 10 saw plan

They can tell you how many hours the saw was run. Also how many times it was started and I think idle time. Not sure what else. Mtronic should calibrate for the muffler and yes it will drink more.

Do you know the procedure for cleaning and oiling a foam filter? Looks like it’s ready for a wash. Was the intake modified for that aftermarket filter? I’ve seen a few that require removing the plastic air spiraling piece to install.

My thoughts as well. Then again the guy that sold it is young, so he doesn't know better yet apparently. I'm sure running the heaviest saw you can will do him wonders as he gets older.

If anything like what we used to run on dirt bikes, wash with detergent and hot water ( I use simple green) let dry and then spray with a foam filter oil and gently massage it in, the oil is very sticky.

BRAD, I have the oil here so don't buy it. Actually, think I have a couple cans, so you are welcome to one of them

I dont. Should i just put the paper one back in? Doesnt the 362 come with a "permanent" air filter. I remember reading about one model that did. 400 the same series saw i it should apply to it too.
