you are so lucky to have a fur friend live that long. I had two mixed breeds live to be 17, but my purebreds haven't made it past 10. It is so sad to loose them when they haven't made old bones.

I won't go near my stove without pants on. No need for collateral damage.

Aw, come on Larry - you've never done the "naked pellet dance" before? It's very liberating.

I'll just have to take your word on it. Besides, I don't dance anymore. Hell, I have all I can do to make it to the bathroom in time.

That's what I have. It's like a Shelter Logic but cheaper. I bought it off EBay. 12 X 12. I could fit 4 ton easily but I don't have the cash for that. I've had it 5 years and it holding up.

Sadly labs and goldens do average 10 years. I've lost a couple at just over 10 and one at 11 and two at 12. Lily is my longest lived golden so far. So far she's doing great.

That is a nice looking stove and it's always nice to get a complete history as well as extra parts.

That was some crazy wind that came thru to announce the cold front. Tmy ground froze up real nice that night from the temps dropping into the mid teens. Never even thougth about softening up yesterday, so moving the white stuff shouldn't be bad.

Almost 4am and it hasn't hit yet, but once it does, it has all day to accumulate.

And yup an all-day affair till early evening. Plan is to leave it till tomorrow morning for cleanup.

I was a meat cutter for 40+ years. You might as well be speaking another language!

We've had a Shelter Logic 10x10x8 for about 7+ yrs now. On the 3rd tarp I've bought to cover the top, it tore over the top support after about 3 years, side walls still fine. The delivery guy from Fallon's Home & Hearth will slide pallets in to the open spaces I have each year then I stack by hand 3+ pallets worth on top. Any left I stack near the stove. I can get 2 bags wide about 17 bags high there. But as I age all this is getting harder to do. I can manage it, just doing it a lot slower and with more old man sounds.:BrianK:

Larger dogs have shorter life spans on average. Have had a couple exceptions. Ex and I had a 120lb Dalmatian who got to 13 and Lori & I had a 140lb Great Pyrenees who also got to 13.

Wasn't much snow on the ground and just light fine snow falling when I got up at 6:45 but starting to come down harder now at 7:30. Yesterday once Sanborn Regional district finally cancelled school for today (2 hours after literally every other town near us had), drove grandson over so he can spend part of vacation week with his parents. Was going to happen after school today but figured if it took a while on Sat to clean up the snow he may not have gone till Sun so we made the drive over after supper. And Lori & I need a little break.

We've had Graham since last mid-June, guardianship since Aug. Have to give credit to all those with special needs kids, it is a challenge.
Graham is autistic (broad spectrum aka high functioning), has some issues with fine motor skills, using the right words when speaking fortunately very mild on anger outbursts. In a lot of ways it's like dealing with a 5 yr old but in a almost 11 yr old's body. Kid reads better than a lot of adults, is great at math, loves music. Throw in all he's had to endure the past few years at home (domestic violence, prescription drug and alcohol abuse, chaos was a daily thing) he's adjusted very well to being here and in a new school. He's made amazing progress in school and we like to think him having a calm, stable home environment has helped that along. His parents seem to be making progress with the therapies they're in, his older step brothers (who also caused a lot of problems) are now with their biological dad. The plan is to see where everyone is at in their progress this summer and see if the court deems it OK for him to go back home.

Respect - a quality cut of meat is worth it's weight in gold. ( And I wouldn't have a clue on how to do it. )

Snow slowed way down but radar shows it heavier just west of us so I guess it'll pick up again.

Have about a dozen ravens out on the feeders. Have rarely seen one here. Cat sitting in the window going nuts with all the activity.

If it's an older Honeywell controller, the "universal" R7284U digital controller would work, but you may need to splice the "limit" line into the L1 & Limit line inputs, as the older controllers did not have a separate limit input / the older L1 controller line is fed by the Limit switch.

(Had to replace ours this past fall '21, a water pipe leak near the furnace took out the controller.)

Attaching a couple of pics, feel free to reach out by forum or PM if I can help. IMG_20220225_103328994.jpg IMG_20220225_103344131.jpg

Edit: here's a link to the forum that saved my bacon when wiring in the above universal digital controller, all credit goes to the good folks in that thread:

It's getting to be that time of year again when dirty stove owners think their pellets aren't burning correctly.

Woke up at 5:30 but didn't get up until 10 Am. Snowing, cold here. Still snowing at 3:30 pm. I know it is still winter, but to be honest, I'm sick of all this winter sh!t. We had a few good days that reminded me of what it could be like. Made it only worse going back into the deep freeze.
