I received one as a gift many years ago. Didn't use it too much because the metal handle bent easily. I had it with me a couple months ago dropping/bucking some oaks. Lost track of where it lay and fell a tree right on it. So don't pick one up from Tractor Supply (if you have those in your neck of the woods) that looks like this:

    Timber Tuff = junk.

I received the Fiskars flavor of one for Christmas, a few years ago. I wondered why I didn't get one years earlier!

Handy tool to have in your quiver.

Great tool addition to the btu gathering and a great wife as well for buying it for you. My beautiful wife is the same way, if I need it she never hesitates to say "get it".

Congratulations on the hookaroon and a wonderful Wife. Keep that Gal warm every way you can! You will reach a point where you won't even want to work with firewood if you have forgotten the hookaroon.

You should like the tongs , I have three pairs. One I modified by adding extra points for use at the splitter and two regular pairs.
Cash Larue; you mention CANT Hook ; Logrite is awesome for that.

Nice pickaroon there Cash. I really like having one for unloading the pickup like you plan on doing. I just took a load of splits to my sister and brother in law and never had to get up in the bed. Congrats.

You will use the log tongs even more than the pickeroon! In addition, they may pay for themselves instead of buying and wearing out so many gloves.

Oh, that’s a good heads up! I’ll be careful about that.

Oh yeah ? When you amass a half a dozen or so tractors, a pile of saws and all the go withs the "get it" fades away.

That looks very well made,. Never used one before, but can see it being handy for unloading the truck.

The Stihl pickaroon is really best for a different job. I use a long wood handled picksroon for pulling wood when unloading my truck and other things.
The Stihl or the brand that is painted Blue ( same thing I think) , work awesome for moving splits or rounds here and there. Especially for flipping them up on the truck or stack.
That one Cash got is IMO a Must Have for unloading trucks and moving heavy rounds and logs.
