50F here now, driveway is still soft, but no longer a mud puddle. Friday/Sat. am cleanup is gonna be a mess if it doesn't firm up before the forecast sn*w, sigh.

The Ford Five Hundred was picked up yesterday, one less 5,000 lb. paperweight in the driveway. Gonna miss the spacious sedan room in that vehicle though. :(

If the "Stove Gods" are kind today, I'll be picking up another pellet stove: a Ravelli RV80, for rehab & refurb over the summer, to install in the living room, or porch room for next season. It depends on which stove can burn the "least" amount of pellets/hr. (Francesca can burn as low as .8 lb/hr, or .6 lb/hr with burn pot restrictor plate), and Betsy's preference, after the RV80 is up-and-running / tested. (Needs a burn pot and exhaust probe sensor currently, per the seller.)

Got some trailer rewiring to do to make this happen, gots to get busy - Have a Fun day all.

Mission (almost) accomplished - the RV80 is in the Camry, built a wood platform where the back seat "used to be" .. Now to unload. .. It's a heavy beast. Some pics from the CL ad.

Seller was very cool, got extra parts, the whole history / run-down on the stove, etc. - I could tell he was sad to see it go. We'll get this fixed up and take good care of the "Romeo Victor" stove.

Got to get busy again, and actually get some IT work done o_O (I know, right?) before heading into the office today.

Have a Super Fun day all.

Light snow this morning about 27 F outside.
Looks like one more cold night tonight, then back to more normal weather...

    WET....WET...DID I SAY WET.
Ran both stoves all day yesterday and through the night....The dry cold air always adds a bit of a challenge to keeping the temps up in the shack.....

Add 2-3 inches of snow on the roof and this place gets real cozy......

Already gone through 3 of the 10 barrels that we got back on Feb 12th
With this current cold snap going away soon it will lessen the consumption.
As close as I can figure...about 60 pounds of shells per 24 hour day......
2.5 Lb per hr (Large Whitfield)

    Currently 23*, was 62* yesterday. :(

Contemplating getting the final ton of pellets out of the driveway before the 8-12" of snow we're supposed to get tomorrow to aid in removal said snow.

I look at it from a different perspective.
Just think of it as paying for your and your SO's own education...
That way, you get a more harmonious outcome..

It's a zero sum game. We either all live together in a society ,and mutually contribute for the general welfare, or....we all go down the chitter in a dog eat dog, F everyone but myself mentality.

Same here. I actually saw 70 at one point although the sun may have been hitting the sensor. It went from 64 to 40 in an hour. It's no secret that I love the snow mostly because it beats the alternative...mud. My granddaughter who works at Lowes in Seabrook called and said that they have Green Supreme for $4 a bag and I can use her employee discount to save another .50 a bag. I may grab a few today.

That what we are supposed to get. I won't make the same mistake as last time. I'll get the sn*w cleared before the transition if possible. I'll grab some more sand mix while I'm out today JIC.

Hope they do the same down here, But my local does carry them all year. So we don't see much for season ending deals. Home Depot is or was But I might have missed the blow out deal??

Still hard to get them into the cella, And don't really want to store outside. Should be getting the ta return shortly and may buy a mini pellet hut for over by the shed??

If you have a 'cella' window, a cheap plastic kids slide through the window works tits.

Stove's out and in the porch room. After taking the door off and 'gutting' out the interior it was more manageable to sling around. Still a Beast though. .. I think it's a little pizzed at me ripping stuff out to lighten it up though, LOL.

I was, for many years, primarily Microsoft (Win OS'es), but started in Linux and still "in the game", as the GPL Router OS I install at my SMB clients (OpenWRT) is *nix based, so have to stay frosty on both OS flavors, command-wise, for development / build environments / to generate firmware targets. * It's also come in very handy for the CyberSecurity course work I'm taking: which heavily favors *nix OS, in that space. Currently work in the SMB segment: some Enterprise work still, occasionally.

Back in the 20's here in SE Michigan. Looking at NWS, we are supposed to get 1-2" Friday-Saturday but out east, appreciably more. I saw 8-10 for coastal Maine where my long time friend lives.

We probably won't get anything but I do sort of appreciate the below freezing temps in an arcane sort of way as the a few days ago muddy road out front has frozen solid again. The mud did leave some serious pot holes in the road, right in front of the house. I imagine I'll be doing my usual 'spring cleanup' of shedded car parts again. People out here drive like maniacs on these roads and literally beat their vehicles to death. People across the road fall into that category. Always late for something and driving at warp factor one. Of course they go through vehicles like water too. I believe the are at a 4-1 ratio with us. They beat them and never maintain or wash them and when they get close to expiring, sell them and get another used, but hopefully not abused vehicle and the cycle repeats itself... Amusing to watch actually and I get to collect and scrap all the parts that their vehicles shed, them and most everyone else out here.

From the ditch, I've collected mufflers, catalytic convertors, exhaust pipes, lots of hubcaps, sway bar links and even a few squared rims and one time even a ditched beater someone left. I scrap it all. Lots of beverage cans too. Mostly Bud Light. People out here have no taste in quality beverages I guess. Every one in the ditch is worth 10 cents at the bottle return.

I've made a couple bucks when walking the pup before. I need to train him to spot discarded beer and pop cans.

You can always hear them coming and they never slow down for the holes. I get to listen to their suspensions screaming for mercy. They don't hear, the have the radio turned up loud or are stoned or loaded.

I always buy off lease vehicles but I never buy any vehicle locally because I know they are all beat to death.

Favorite vehicle color out this way is brown as well. Don't show the dirt all that well...

When I have to go out, my top speed on these backroads is maybe 5mph tops and when I see one coming behind me, I move over and stop and let them scream by.

Corrosion tends to consume our vehicles from the road salt used here but not consumed by stupid driving and deep potholes. I pressure wash our vehicles every chance I get, always paying close attention to the underside and wheel wells where crud can collect and corrode fender wells. About every truck out here over 3 years old has rusted out wheel well openings. My 97 Ford has no rust on it anywhere. neither does my 14 Focus or my wife's Transit van and her new Suburban stays in the garage, too expensive to take out and load with mud. Amazing what a little preventive maintenance can do as opposed to just letting the crud and road salt eat away at a vehicle. I'm willing to bet that no one out here has ever paid off a vehicle loan, they don't last long enough.
