Very warm here on the Mtn this morning, 50F and windy. Took advantage of the warm temps yesterday and got the Ford Five Hundred cleaned out, battery is charging to get running again after sitting awhile .. It's going to Salvage Yard. Fuse box issue and rocker panel rust have consigned it's fate.

We picked up a '21 Subaru Impreza HB a few months ago (Dec '21), it's a neat little vehicle, reminds me of the old school Honda Civic HB Betsy owned years ago. ... With many more 'gadgets'. Still haven't figured out what all the buttons on the steering wheel are for. (Car starts, drives, and stops, so it's all good then.)

Natalie (eldest daughter) is borrowing it for a few weeks while her car is in the shop, co-worker scraped her Subie in late Dec. in parking lot at work, so back to driving the '00 Toyota Camry w/ 296,000 miles on the clock. ... Still running excellent. Needs a complete suspension overhaul though, which is why she's driving the new rig. It's on the list for this summer.

Work is still crazy busy - more projects, testing, and implementation on the plate. The 'bad actors' of the world haven't slowed down, if anything they've stepped it up over the last few months. Keeping systems updated, and using a good Ad / Content Blocker (Adblock Plus, Ublock Origin, etc.) in the web browser goes a long way to help keeping the bad folks out. Especially the 'your computer has been infected! Call 1-888-this-is-a-Scam' browser popup/hijack folks. ... Been seeing more activity on this (very old) scam technique lately. The adage 'everything old becomes new again' ... is very true for IT.

Done rambling for this am, have a Great day all. Time for more coffee. :coffee:

Very glad this rain isn't the white crap. I can see my grass again although its pretty brown. Got some muck in spots too. A little water in the basement, So had to manually fire the pump again. I might have to move the sump plumbing up the todo list.

Agree, gonna need a lot today! :D

    :coffee: and

Almost 60 yesterday, rain and warm overnight.

Still have complete ground cover of white stuff but the ice paths are 80% melted

Temps already dropping again but at least we regained the paths back.

Actually, I would rather have frozen dirt than mucky mud paths that just a few miles south of here has.

I agree, went to go fill the bird feeders and when I stepped onto the grass I started leaving 1/2 inch deep footprints as I just sunk in on every step.

The warm temps were nice, but what got rid of the ice in the pathways was the wind. Without that, the cold just stays at the ground level and nothing melts.

Thursday evening after the wind started kicking up. Yeah, the paths look nice, but most of that is sand or looking thru the ice. The ice is thin enough in some spots that the 3" tall grass is poking thru at the bottom right of this picture

Friday at noon after massive winds overnight. Earlier in the morning the temp had dropped from 54 to 30 in about 2 hours and everything was refrozen at this point.

I ordered the pellets with delivery from Lowes, comes out to $6.50/bag. I'm having sticker shock but the two other choices here are a brand we won't burn anymore or the others at $7.99 bag.

I know! People talk about the high cost of living and housing prices in New England, I just don't think they know how much things cost out here too.

New stove seems dialed in, and most importantly my wife likes it.

This recent cold spell has given it a good exercise. We seem to burn less pellets and the heat is more even.

What kind are they and how far do they have to deliver?

Well mostly that is in reply to those in the west coast that can get DFs for less or the same price as we can get low or middling pellets.
