Took the 550 for a walk today. White Ash day. A couple small blowdown and a decent size one that was hung up in a maple and bittersweet/grape vines. 550xp is the funnest stock saw I own.

Never thought I’d see the day! Welcome to the family, lil’ battery bandit! Wasn’t sure what to expect, but so far so good. Already filled the wood bag and chucked out some noods. She’s a little heavy with the 5ah battery, and a little plastic-y. “Throttle” response is nice and smooth, and the chain brake feels just like a gas saw. I think the 18in bar is a little ridiculous, probably going down to a 14in.

not to sound like an Echo fanboi, but how does that 7310 feel? I’m super interested in one, even though my end game is a 500i.

The 7310 feels really good in the hands, it also has amazing build quality, and priced well. The only negative is that it's a little heavy and down on power compared to the other 70cc saws.

Went to war with metal today and I had to sharpen 4 times to win. Nothing like spending most of the day cutting one round.:salute:

    Yeah metal is a bummer.
My last encounter with metal sent my chain to the hook on the wall for the grinder. It was way beyond a file.
Glad you got through, but I feel your pain.

Seriously..so jealous !!! The SXLA and xl-12 are the epitome of a true classic chainsaw! Just got one of those on my bench. Covered in a thick layer of gunk !
Your saw is sweet..best I've seen. A true classic ! Great pic too ! Love the gas can too !
