Well i had the used 400 lined up for $800 (he had $850 firm but the haggler in me still made an offer) and meet up this weekend. His last message on Wednesday stated weekend was fine. Ive PMed him twice and no response. He had ended the listing instead of "sale pending". Im a little  :headbang: :hair:about this, but it is what it is. Just a chainsaw. I did send a nice PM about his handling of it.
Im 0 for 2 on deals for a 400. Maybe ill have to pay full price.

Sometimes the chase is more fun. Better luck next time. Once you have the 400 you will almost have the full monty of modern stihls.

Should have never read this thread…. Dang it

Any idea what a used, almost excellent condition 361 would go for on FB marketplace?

Probably in the $500-600 range. I bought my 361 from jo191145 couple Summers ago. Practically a virgin saw. Why not a 400 Fanatical1?

Just went to my Stihl dealer who's a fairly large dealer and he said no 362's, 462's or 400's for a couple months now and no idea when they might see any.
Also out of snowblowers, backpack blowers and most lawn mowers. He asked if I wanted to put my name on a list for a 400 and said if I dont, I probably wont see one for a long time. And by the way, there was a Stihl price increase in January and the 400 has an MRSP of 959.00 with a 20" bar now.

The only good news is he thought I would have no trouble selling a clean 361 for top dollar. He thought $575.00 which makes me feel a little better if I decide to upgrade my 361 to a 400.

I need to be careful, or I might get the urge myself.

Even paid $80 less after shipping than I could get it for locally (if they had one).
