Colder here. What's your temp? What ya burnin?

Rain stopped , one to two inches of rain fell around here , temperature dropped to 30 now , puddles in the yard are freezing up , snow coming in a couple of hours

 

Silver maple kindling and a double dry hopped IPA from central NY. Thursday evening tradition of getting the stove going for the next 5 days. Rain and 40’s right now. Tomorrow in the teens with flurries.

 

It's been raining all day so the driveway is like glass but a bunch of ashes from the outside fireplace from this spring went on it with some sand from our property and more tube sand.

I'm not sure what the outside temp is but it's 70 up here with a load of Ash and some Ironwood going in later for the overnight fire.

It's 35.2 out at the moment.

 

It’s around 32 here now. Rain with sleet mixed in hitting the windows. It rained a good amount here today. Lots of snow went away. We are hoping this changes over to snow quick and we get away with little to no ice. I’m going to loads the boiler up with Beech and Maple for the overnight. Temps suppose to be down to 14 by 8am. Now calling for 3-9”.

What a joke, 2" of rain yesterday and 48. Now 18F and dropping with about 4" of snow. Why did it have to warm up and make a mess. Ice under the snow is making some real fun. We were having a decent winter too, now it's a slick mess. Oak in both the boiler and stove.

 

6 degrees out, 84 degrees in. White oak churning out the heat. A sip of Jack Daniels has a high BTU output, warming up my insides. Feel the burn!

Rain supposed to change to snow. Should be quite the mess.

 

57 out and It's supposed to change from a southerly wind to northwestly wind and temps will drop. The good part is that the glacier of ice on the driveway is gone.

 

Yeah almost 50* at midnight now 17* so snow over ice.. schools are canceled

 

Well Seasoned told me the snow line is near my house.

 

Spring comes later in the mountains here. But spring will pop out here and there, enough to keep the roads muddy. But March is when the warming southern moisture rides up the coast and runs into the cold Canadian air coming over New England and create North easters and we get blizzards with deep snow.
