After having our pressure tank rupture and destroy our subfloor and hardwood floor, I’m thinking about moving it from the crawl space to the basement? Another option would be cut a new access through the basement wall into the crawl space allowing better/larger access and not take up space in the basement, current access is from outside. Any advantages/disadvantages to crawl space vs basement install other than cooler drinking water?

Unfinished basement is where our propane water heater lives. Easy access is about all I can offer.

I'm confused, you first say you want to remove it from the crawl space then you say cut a hole in the basement wall into the crawl space.
As long as the pipe to the tank is sized to the pump output you can put the tank anywhere. As they last a long time I don't mind putting them in a inconvenient place.

It’s complicated, part of the house has a basement, part has a crawl space and part is on a slab, Missouri hills and bedrock can make for some interesting construction at times. Biggest reason I am considering moving it is previous owners sided over part of the crawl space access and put whole house water filter and UV light in the crawl space. Best options I see are
    1) move everything to basement
    2) cut hole large enough to walk through into crawl space and leave it where it is

Then I vote for number 2. Plus you can use the crawl space for storage.

Vote for the basement coming from here.

For someone in their 40's, there would be no problem with the crawl space as you can get in there and service it (saturated tank) or replace it.

But since it's going to be a new tank, you probably won't be asking about this again until a couple decades from now. It'll be a lot easier for you then.

... as long as you have access, it should be fine. You might have to fix a pipe one day so plan for potential repairs.
Mine is in the basement where the well water comes in.

You wouldn’t suggest burying in the front yard?

I had the bill for that in my hand yesterday wondering if it could be used for deductions and worth filing an amended return. H R said "Nope"
