Our flag had gotten worn and tattered, so it was time to replace it. It came in the other day... 0210221501.jpg

Seems to be of excellence quality.
This is the box it came in... 0211221328.jpg

100% American sourced and made in Charleston SC.
If you need a flag, I highly recommend this company. Now, we need a better flag pole...

Our flag day in Canada is Feb. 15. Not a national holiday. It is nice to see a brand new flag flying T.Jeff Veal

I don't understand what you're saying. Isn't allegiance spelt allegiance?

With my misspelled words, it's kind of hard to understand what I'm typing too, huh? :headbang:

BTW, I am enjoying seeing all of the Canadian flags on those trucks all over Canada lately! :handshake:

Okay, now I get it. You sure don't see that very often. You would think the word itself is used so much that we would know how to pronounce it.

I actually had to check but I thought you had spelt it correctly so I couldn't see the problem.

What inspired us to start flying a flag at the house was our trip down to Lincoln City, Oregon in 2013. We were impressed with how many people had flags flying outside their houses.

I love to see people flying the flag on their property. My pet peeve with it is the ones not having a direct light on it after sunset.

If I get around to putting my flagpole up this summer I will definitely buy one of their flags.

T.Jeff Veal this is not directed at you, can’t tell from your photos. It’s just something I see way too often that really gets my blood pressure up.

It doesn't have a light on it, at the moment. I'm planning on getting a proper flagpole with solar light at the top, very soon.

Of all the things in the world to be offended about, and you choose something that not only teaches, but comes from an everyday dictionary? Do the instructions on how to treat the flag also offend, because everyone "should know"?

Sorry to sound harsh, apparently I should have another cup of coffee - I'm too grumpy this morning.

Not only children but new people to the country (legally of course), whose native language is not English.

bogieb I would much rather see more instructions on how to treat and display the flag respectfully and properly displayed on the box. And no, it wouldn't offend me at all if they included instructions along with the packaging.

It's not offensive to me, it's more of the point that they felt it was necessary to include it on their packaging.

Here's a bit of info on the use of the flag that I bet you didn't know. (taken from following link)

Guidelines for Display of the Flag (va.gov)

Other Things Not to Do with the Flag Out of respect for the U.S. flag, never:

.......... use it as wearing apparel, bedding or drapery. It should not be used on a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be attached to the uniform of patriotic organizations, military personnel, police officers and firefighters.

.........use the flag for advertising or promotion purposes or print it on paper napkins, boxes or anything else intended for temporary use and discard.

It's crazy how many flags I see flown in the dark, with no light shining on it and flown in in-climate weather. I also see all the rednecks on the 4th flying flags on their pickup trucks and hanging off ATV/UTV's on the trails. All they are doing is beating their chests making themselves feel good thinking they are being patriotic, when they are actually making themselves look like fools to the ones who know what proper flag etiquette is. As posted above, this proper flag etiquette is something I learned very early on as a kid from my grandma on the family homestead farm (dad's family came here in 1868 from Belgium). I used to spend a week or two every summer with my grandma and grandpa on the farm. Every night we'd go to the flag pole and take down the flag, fold it correctly and put it away. Then every morning we'd go back out there to string it back up on the flag pole. If is was going to rain we'd go back out and take it down. I got to carry it some of the time and she stressed how I could not let it touch the ground. If it touched the ground we'd have to burn it. As a kid, I always made sure I didn't let it touch the ground because I did not want to burn it.

This is what the farm looked like back when I was a kid. It looks much different now. The house, part of the garage, chicken coup and main barn are still there. The machine shed and grainery are all gone. You can see the flag pole below.

This is what it looks like now. The flag pole is still there.

That's a great looking flag, and love that it's made in America. I love our flag, and what it stands for. One thing that gets my blood up some people that are "offended" by it, and want to change it.
