There’s a lot of them when you know your way around a chainsaw. If I got a dollar every time I cleared this driveway I could buy a starbux. I will test out the 242 and 262 on this Virginia Pine. Times a wastin
Had to bring a closer just in case. First time using the 262 Diced up the trunk with 262 than grabbed the 242 for the rest The top was a big wad of vines and tangled chit. Drove further down and found more fun. it took a while to get the 242 dialed in and don’t know that I’m there yet, but I’m close The walbro is finicky as f. When it’s right I could use the saw all day. Just a light ripper that cuts above its weight.
Is the cabin built in the water? Looks like you had a fair amount of work to get back there but looks like a nice day to do it!
Looks like a nice place, makes me want to toss out a few lines for some catfish and have a few drinks!
Perfect spot and day for that. Currently 68 and I noticed a few lost bobbers on the shoreline brush. There’s also a canoe to cruise the pond if you get bored fishing off the deck.
For shame! If I lived closer I'd take it all!! Hahahaha. I love me my softwoods although that particular trunk had lots o' knots. How was the 242 in the cut? I had to fiddle with a Walbro carb in the 372xp x-torq I just rebuilt. Was running all weird, bogging down, throttle response delayed.....and then I let out the L screw a bit until I got a nice trigger response and now it's ripping.
At first it was hesitant off idle and sometimes losing power in the cut, so I had to richen up hi and lo from the initial setting of 1 turn off close. Kept tweaking L back and forth trying to find the sweet spot. Are you cutting with the 372 while tuning. It can make a big difference on final settings.
I did most of the tuning before I did some test cuts because it wasn't even idling properly. Surging, laggy throttle response. After I got it where I thought I wanted I did a few test and went WOT and it cut well. Then I tweaked it again after letting it sit overnight and trying it out again the next day. I'd say the post-cut adjustments were more minor. But man when my buddy came and picked it up I told him to start it cold and it fired right up and ripped. He gave me a smile as if to say "Yeah baby!" so I hope it works well. The other 372xp he had to tweak slightly but I feel like this one I did a better job.
