Does anyone have a battery backup for power outages?

In the 8 years I've been here, I lost power once for about 4 hours. Then there have been some flickers. I also have no place to put a standby generator unless I place it in the middle of the yard where the old 500 gal propane tank used to sit.

I am just outside the center of town and the second house off a state road so if something happens, it is getting taken care of pretty quickly. Like you, I just can't justify spending thousands for a very remote just in case.

A generator could be used just to run the circulation pump to keep the pipes from freezing in the long term.

And I'm sure if I ever lost power for a long time, that would be a solution. And I'm sure you replied to that comment before you saw this one.

Similar here. On a state owned rd due to the fish hatchery. I have lost for a day and a half back in the ice storm in 2008 (I think). Rest if the town was out for days. A few several hour blips but nothing warranting the cost of a generator.

I do have an APS Sine wave backup that keeps the stove running for about 15-20 minutes

Frankly, right now I'd rather install a heated driveway to keep the ice off of it this year

I'll be outside w/ the Propane Torch after work today, to start on the driveway / walkway melting. Temps. here w/ low sun are not gonna melt it this time. ... Sigh.
