    I've driven it many, many times. One unique feature, is that the two middle lanes on the suspended portion are steel grid rather than solid. You can actually see through it down to the water as you are driving.

    We were up there a few years ago and crossed that bridge. I believe they said the middle lanes have a steel grid to allow air to pass thru, lessening the wind load on the bridge. Amazing construction when you consider the engineers who designed it were using slide rules.

    If you ever cross but have to stop somewhere around the mid-point it gets really neat! And yes, the bridge does sway a bit. I was blessed once while crossing in a truck and had to stop (some construction) almost in the middle. I was the only one who got out and walked around. I loved it!

    It gets closed to high profile vehicles pretty often.
    It's funny because that seems the foggiest place on the lakes

    Yes. I was once stopped from crossing when winds kicked up to 85 mph. The noise was amazing! Fortunately I was able to cross about 12 hours later.
