    That was me 10 years ago.I've slowed down a bit since then.Still split everything by hand though.

    Mine really does. Hands are killing me from the arthritis and my back... well it always hurts.

    Most of my splitting is by hand but I don't sound like I am going through labor pains like the guy in the video.

    That looked like a challenge to physical endurance. Beating up on yourself like that only last just so long and then the rest of your years activities are limited by a multitude of physical ailments.

    My brother splits wood the same way (sans the anger), I don't cut wood with my brother any more. :whistle:

    Prolly a wise choice. I used to feel like I was always way behind on the firewood thing back a couple decades ago, and really couldn't enjoy the process. I don't have to do it that way anymore and, wow, what a difference it makes when I just slow down now and enjoy the activity while in the woods... :tree:

    I love to split wood (most of the time) because it is a job that I don't have to think too much or worry about meeting a deadline etc. I do find it calming and I also get in a "zone", although not like that guy! I just put on my ipod and make small ones out of the big ones.
