27/70 It's going to be warm enough for a few days that enough snow might melt to make cutting feasible again.
It was -22°F ambient temperature. Winds Calm . This morning @ 9-9:30 am . Finally got up to 4 below today. Wood and this woodstove being our only heat source. The above loading of FKWS kept the house quite comfortable for 10 hours. I'm curious how many more hours the premium firewoods would have heated the house in similar conditions.
I'm always curious how much a more modern efficient stove would reduce your wood usage. Woke to 25/74 today. Supposed to get to the 50's this week. Let the mud show resume.
.......you're welcome! Day started very nice. Lots of sunshine, very slight breeze, on the way to 30's. Cooked the first round of 2022 this year's burgers on the grill! Before I was done, wind picked up, clouds moved in, temps are falling!
I'm thinking along those lines as well. Thinking positive so I dug the splitter out today (was using my large Otter sled as a partial cover and needed that anyway so finished digging the splitter out as well). Hoping to at least scrounge some wood this week.
It’s 35 here with a projected low of 25. I just shuffled a couple racks around and now I’m burning a mix of spruce, beech uglies and red oak scraps.
Been getting to 60 F here. Lots of sunshine . About 45 outside now. Don't need a fire. It's false SPRING. The Rain/Mudd/ maybe Snow too Sh@#$how will commence in about 10 days
Coldest it’s gonna get here for a few days. 23/77. Just loaded up w/ chestnut and red oaks. Was burning mulberry earlier and when I reloaded, I took a few pics and it let some smoke wiff into the basement. Very pleasant aromatics! Almost incense like. These splits are 18” long. And 2 chunks to top it off.
Was -10°F ambient temperature an hour ago. Calm Loaded the stove with fkws I was out walking the dogs and was very surprised at how warm it felt. Lots of moose activity here this morning. It's quite something how Big an adult moose looks when what it's standing on is 9' above the ground.
