Most of them clean themselves but if you have to help be careful if they have claws.

Last subzero weather for at least 10 days. I'm looking forward to getting out to do something more than just get the mail.

I can't answer for him but here is what I do.

After around a cord of wood I like to remove the cat. Then I take it outdoors and with a small flexible brush wipe the fly ash off the outside of the cells. Then I just very lightly tap the cat on the porch rail and more fly ash falls. Alternate is to use a can of air like the stuff you can buy in an office supply. Caution: any air pressure stronger than this can damage the cat by blowing some of the metals out of the cells. Brush again then put cat back in. All this probably takes me 2-3 minutes.

During summer I use a vinegar bath by mixing vinegar and distilled (warm) water. Spray into the cells. Then using cold distilled water, spray to rinse the cells then just let it dry.

    Hope this helps.

Usually I just run a brush over it every other day or so. When that doesnt do the job I like to gently vacuum both sides. I dont let vacuum touch cat. Have to order some gasket, so I just vacuumed the front. Some put them in a solution of distilled water and vinegar. (I think thats what it is. I never did that.

    Edit: what Backwoods Savage said

16/60 and climbing with ash and BL. I let stove go out to cool down.

It was 8° when I got up this morning. Nice quiet, bright sunny day here in southern New England. The house is nice and warm from a mix of beech, apple, and black locust. Happy Sunday to all.

What model weather station do you have as I see they have several? Also, how do you like it as we've been thinking about one for the past few years.

Mine is eating Michigan Hardwood pellets and field corn like crazy and the humidifier is also pretty hungry. I'd have a woodstove if we had the wood to cut. We don't. All ag ground down here

got it for Christmas last year since my old one but the dust. I’m not sure on any of the wireless function to your phone since I did not set any of that up. The station works good and is accurate inside and outside. It’s fun to watch the rain add up in the spring time too.
