I'm fuming , my 14 yr old daughter was told no food or drink around the computer, we'll Friday night she had the lap top in her bedroom . She managed to dump a glass of milk on the keyboard, an now the computer is shot . The computer was new in February , I asked her if it was working ok last night " ya it was fine" after I started to take it apart and found something inside then she fessed up Bestbuy here I come again
It's repairable, but probably not worth it. The hard drive and the ram in it are probably worth saving.
One of those "bumps" along the way ES... Drives ya crazy at the time... but you won't even be able to remember it at all when you walk her down the aisle, waaaaaaay in the future... Time's funny like that. Hope she understands and learns from this... and that it doesn't cause you too much of a hassle dealing with the $$ side of it. Good luck.
I normally put a rider on my homeowners insurance for like 8 bucks. Collected once when I stepped on a laptop. That was back when they cost about 3 times as much as they do today! Gary
best buy was pitching me on the "protection plan" 190 bucks for 2 years computer was 420 half the cost for a if come
How many years of slave labor does it take to earn $450 in your household? Growing up... I'm pretty sure prisoners made better pay than my Dad "gave" to repay stuff like that
Not much consolation.... But consider at least that if this where the 90s that mistake would a cost 2000 not 400...
I got to haul firewood to the house all winter long when I decided to paint my dad's new AM/FM/TV/weather band radio with my moms nail polish when I was 7. I don't know what that radio cost in 1982, but looking back I think it came out to a dime a load.
Drove my stepdads new car into a streetlight back 30 some years ago He just shook his head at me. Nothing to do with putes es but its just money and not health.
It was once pointed out to me by a lawyer who worked for the insurance industry that buying insurance against relatively small, likely and non-catastrophic losses simply doesn't make sense.
I'd probably agree with you. The time and money it takes to protect an item like that doesn't seem like it's worth it. And when it fails it's prorated anyways. You need insurance on your kids mishaps more than the items
A way to deal with this is "no computer in your room". You know kids are temped not to follow rules and fib about it, remember your own youth, but also think this might limit accessing to unsavory websites which are way more distrctive than spilled milk.
