    I don't know how much interest there is over here but a few are starting to get into racing so it may help them out. I had a round filed full skip chain for a 20" that I did the video of the 372 with so I used that as before and square filed the chain and made an after. I then made a video of that chain against a brand new carlton in a different log after I ran out of the poplar. Here's some pictures of the round chain, trick to tighten the chain up on the bar for filing, and then a tooth on the square filed chain. I have a video of square filing some of the chain. I'll put up also.

    Here's the video of filing. I finally got a camera operator so I did that like I normally do. I tried to file and video at the same time but no luck. I guess I need a go pro for that.

    I use a wedge if I'm out and don't want to tension the chain too much.

    I liked how you showed it self feed, that way u now the depth gauges are set good.

    Also to the members out there I learned how to sharpen with a bevel file thanks to mdavlee's videos.

    I'm not a pro but my square chains will embarrass a round or RSL

    I think it could be improved on really. I didn't touch the rakers from when it was round filed. I think with a swipe or two it would pull nicely.

    On my 064 72dl full comp square file I've been setting my rakers at .035 and it eats. Round forget it at that depth

    Yeah on an 064 I'm sure it can pull it.

    yeah its getting strange when you have chains for certain saws. Its on Randy's bench today I hope :whistle:

    Might have to take them down to .04 LOL.:dex:

    I have one chain that's about that low. The teeth are almost triangles on it though. The shorter the teeth the more you can take rakers down without it getting too grabby.

    I had a square around .040. Sucked the power right out of my woods ported 7901 with finger ports. Needed a very light hand to get a good quick cut.

    Your first 2 vidoes? You had a cut your time in half. Went from about 9-10 seconds down to 5 seconds!! :dex:

    But I scrolled and read after those. Gonna time the Maple log now :thumbs:

    Yep just a file job. Not too bad of a gain for maybe a half hour work with pictures and videos to be taken.

    I am lazy, I just look at the counter for the video & note the start / stop times. This way if the video hesitates, it doesn't matter. Satellite internet, guess Ii am glad it is not basic dial-up.
