Yes, it was the first ported saw that I got.

Terry's in Tennessee, too. Like MM said in his response. A very good guy to talk to too. I'm excited to try out his port job.

Also your MS390 was not the same thing that Mike had. His is the Husky 390xpw. Just for clarification.

That 390 is stronger than the 660 you have. There's just more to be had in those saws.

Yeah Griz, the 390 they were referring to was. Husqvarna 390XP (90 cc class saw or a Beast), a Stihl MS 390 is only a 60 cc class saw and is about half the saw of the Husqvarna.

Mike (mdavlee) is a good guy and I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to let him do work on one of my saws. If I recall correctly, He used to have Randy do the machine work (does he still do it Mike)? But does the porting himself. The nice thing about Randy, Mike, Mitch, Brad, etc, is they share numbers (port timing, timing advance, etc) and help each other out. I'm sure Randy would give a pointer or two if Mike needed it.

The contest? Well, just be consistent. Dont bog the saw down to much. Do some practice runs an use several different techniques (pushing hard/lower RPM, pushing light/high RPM, and pushing just right/perfect RPM). Then watch the video and time the runs. You'll want to find the sweet spot on the RPM range. You want the saw to do the work, but you should be applying decent pressure, but not so much to drop out of the peak power zone.

Randy usually does the machine work. I have sent a jug or two to srcarr when Randy was so busy trying to catch up. Me and Randy share numbers and some saws we've done differently and some are a lot of the same.

No. Randy still had to port it. Once it arrives, I will start a thread and give a full report, with videos and pics :dex:

You, member Jrsdws, and myself are all getting a 261C-M from Randy. We all contacted him in the sake week. There is a Mastermind 261C-M for sale on another board, that guy wants $850 for the saw. The saw I got from Randy had one tank ran through it (he took it on trade), but it's still brand new (IMO). So there is 3 of us, 4 counting MasterMech, that will have the same saw. Pretty sure there will be a lot of talk about the 261 in the upcoming weeks :dex:
