Nothing surprises me what is found in trees land clearing for development years ago we found many trees with anything and everything in them anytime we would clear fencerows the bottom 5 feet of the trees went to the stump dump those were the worst . When doing residential tree removals found trees with everything from nails.concrete.bricks .plow shares and the most memorable was a 6 cylinder engine crankshaft ??? . I always like when someone brings a log in for custom sawing and tells me they know there is no metal in it :DI just reply that unless they planted it and watched it they have no way of knowing what is in it JB

I had a person willing to pay me to mill part of his yard tree (w/ my alaskan). Told me he planted it and knew he never put anything metal in there. 3/4 of the way into my first cut I hit a hardened screw, trashed my chain. We decided I’d resharpen and try again after removing it. Finished that first cut, adjusted my depth and 1/2 way into second cut, another screw! I tossed in the towel. He was very apologetic, gave me $50 for my time and bought me a new loop of chain. @ that point I said never again unless I had some type of detector.

Hey Cash looks like you're going to get a good amount of snow coming the next couple of days.
I hope your wood is dry and your loaded up in the house and ready to go.

Not in the ash pan, but rather found it with the splitter... IMG_20151110_124808713-3.jpg
We found these nails after cleaning moss and fern off the pecan limb. It was probably 10-15' up. Bored kids in the tree house
0504211525.jpg We were able to cut between the nails and use the wood... 0505211640.jpg

Yep! Snowing HARD here already. I’ve got a bunch of dry wood stacked under the deck. My plow is all fueled up and ready to go! Are you guys up north supposed to get any of this system?

60° and spring like here in northern Kentucky. Our winter storm starts tonight with heavy rain, then sleet and ice as the temps drop. This is followed by 4" to 6" of snow. In other words, for our part of the mother planet, we will be paralyzed for about 3 days.

Yes I have heard the same I bought the MDI detector I just got tired of buying bandsaw blades it has saved me the cost of the unit already it will pick up a 6 penny nail 15 inches in I am still learning with it it is so sensitive even when turned down it will pick up mineral deposits in the log and give a reading but when you get near a chunk of metal it really lets you know . I do put the clause in my sawing that customer is responsible for blade damage 65.00 a blade it pays for the blade and some extra for my time to cut it up the scrap yard does not like them whole JB
