This weather has halted my new pics too. Eager to get back in the woods. A pic from when I scored my motherload of plastic pallets.
Did a tree job last month. Red maple fell in a lake. Hauled out everything. Kids got paid for hauling everything up the hill as I wasn’t interested in doing it myself. I did leave myself a mess to deal with afterward…. What a mess to pick through.
Nice work there SITM...and kids! One of the things im not too crazy about when i do an occasional tree/chain saw job...getting rid of the brush. Couple towns i can bring it to, but one shut down til mid March. The other closes by noon! It is what it is.
I just pile the branches in the backyard. Our lot is big enough that they don’t get in the way and I don’t consider the piles an eyesore.. just leave them for a year and then break em up for kindling or SS bags that consist of a paper shopping bag full of sticks that are tossed into the stove whole and take the morning chill out of the air quickly.
Did my first hoarding of 2022 today. Actually it's wood I bought. It was in 20' length logs that I bucked to 60" , 5' and loaded. One of the logs was an old blowdown so it has some punky wood in it. I'll buck it but set it aside to spend the summer in the woodshed. It will be real dry for next winter. . The rest of the 1/2 cord load is bone dry. All fire killed white spruce. Very nice firewood for around here. The more I run my 572 XPGW Husky. The more I Like it !
That belongs in "the car hoarding thread" There are members here who dont have a truck or trailer, but still hoard. Way to get it done!
That scaled out at 100 cubic feet. It was a get us by load. Everyone around here is crying for wood. I can go up another foot on my stacks. And do another one behind it . That will put better than 2 cord on the truck.
