Dennis your story is similar to mine. When I was eleven my job during the winter was to keep the wood stove going.I enjoyed splitting and stacking thinking I was Davey Crockett and Daniel Boone surviving off the land in my own way.I still enjoy it though now I get to use the chain saw instead of my Father.
23F here now. 73F inside burning some red oak. Supposed to get up to freezing tomorrow, so probably will clean out my ash.
Shoulder season for a few days. High of 60 and down to 30 tonight. Next week it’s back to normal with highs on the 20’s -30’s and lows from 4-20. Red oak & hickory again when the temps drop. Mike in Okla
We're at - 6.9 already, it looks like another double digit minus night for us. We have 70 in the living room and 65 in the sleeper room. The wood stove has a small fire going and the pellet stove just got started on a medium feed rate.
It’s 24 and we have our 3rd consecutive weekend with snow. Please call Saskatchewan and ask for NC to be returned.
Awesome day! 55f for the high, got out cut and split some wood plus stopped by the guy's sale. He did have a clean Husky 440 said $50, a Husky 340, Stihl 311, those were missing parts. Also had a few other homeowner saws. Was leaving when I spotted a Stihl case, thinking it was empty I picked it up but heavy. Opened up to see what I thought was an MS450. Didn't know they made a MS450. Talking 41f tomorrow so may do some more splitting.
I did and you are correct. MS460 77cc. Put some mix in it and it starts but runs wild so not sure what could be wrong, most likely needs carb gone through but could be seals. Asked them how much and when he told me I should have just grabbed the Husky 440 because you guys are going to be upset that I didn't and I had not excuse. Let's just say well under $100 for the 460, in fact I could have had several and stayed under $100.
21. Loaded with some oak tree top limbs and some splits on top. now in the dark in front of the fireplace, have some ash as a base and dropped a four year split hickory in for some crackle and pop
