Burn a little in your grill or smoker and see if the smoke tastes sweet.
Pecan is the BEST smoker wood!
    Especially for beef.

Pecan. It is stringy and can be a bear to split. Is it really green ?

There's someplace in Missouri that makes pecan bowls, beautiful bowls, the color resembles them.

    Love pecan pie!

No. The splits on the left are Walnut.

Is that a white oak split in there as well?

Yeah , I have cut and split a bunch of pecan and I would say 98% that’s why you got. Bark looks a little tight for as big as it is but it can grow different up there I guess.

I wish there was some white oak in there as that’s some of the best firewood there is in my opinion. If that is pecan (I’m pretty sure it is) that’s all I got in that score. Walnut and Pecan

It must be Pecan. The smoke smells similar to Hickory but milder.

There's 2 upsides to this, it's pecan, and you don't have covid!

Only 1 upside. I’m in quarantine because I tested positive Wednesday and can’t go to work. Feeling fine so I’m splitting wood.
