Just heard bombo genesis for this storm in the Boston area-apparently its been around for years

    bombogenesis - Google Search

Coastal Boston area is getting pummeled during the high tide. Some roads and parking lots look like raging rivers and lakes.

Kinda disappointed. Had almost no snow at 8am here on the seacoast of NH. Now, at 10:30 we have maybe an inch and it's the granuley type of snow. Temps dropping though. 16 degrees and breezy. Looking at the radar I see a couple of big bands heading our way. I may turn the TV on to see how freaked out everyone is

Just "spoke" to him on FB. All good, a little sn*w. He's watching his back right now as the boss has fryin' pan in hand :heidi: while he works on the "honeydew" list in the new abode. Said he'd check in here later.

All good here G-man! Honey do list items cause momma's home. Just sat down with some grub and a java planning what's next. Son's home as well. So we get to see him for a bit. He has so many orders for flies, He's just working from home today.

Genny's all gassed, Blower is all gassed and 10 gallons in back up. Not much sn*w yet, But windy as heck on the hill. Drifts forming and sn*w blowing so hard to tell, But maybe 2 inches so far. Fingers crossed we don't lose the juice.

One of the criteria is a pressure drop of 24 milibars in 24 hrs, this storm dropped 48 milibars in 24 hrs..

Snow and wind have started to pick up a bit over the past hr, a steady light, fine snow. Saw a chart on one station showing amount of snow based on amount of moisture in the air. Normal is 10 in per inch of water (10:1), high humidty is 5:1, super dry & cold like today, 20:1 .

Saw this on NH Reddit this morning:

"Props to all the Dunkin's workers who always manage to be there. It's like the most essential job in New England. Everything else is shut down but somehow a high school kid with a Geo Metro is at work filling coffee for the plow truck drivers in the middle of a snowstorm."

We could have it worse today I guess:

'Freeze alerts in place as far south as Florida, where NWS warned of 'isolated falling iguanas from trees'

That sux that the furnace cr*pped out, hope you got the right part and it fires up for you.

I keep thinking about a new boiler. According to the installation tag, it is a little over 30 years old. But, it hasn't started leaking yet, and I only use it as a backup, so I really can't get enthused about replacing it. It is run more to keep the FHW pipes from freezing. I also keep thinking about having the pipes that run thru the garage, and service the bedrooms cut out of the loop, which would cut out even having to light the boiler until I really needed it. But I haven't done that either. Easier to procrastinate :emb:
