Who's Using A Grapple ?

I agree completely! Slow and careful wins ! I also change the front axle fluid 3 times a year...makes me sleep better at night. 80/90 gear oil is cheap compared to an axle rebuild !

I drilled out my drain plugs and used loctite to install magnets to pull out any ferrous contamination.

I looked at the Land Pride and EA grapples. We settled on the MTL from West Ga Equipment. Built heavier than the LP and cheaper than EA. In fact, they have a deal, buy attachent, get $$ off a set of forks. Since we were changing over to QA from pin on, the old forks we had wouldn't work. We got both grapple and forks cheaper than just a EA grapple.
We did get the 3rd function valve kit from Land Pride, made it easy to install on the 'Bota...

 

Nice looking stuff.
I'm on a mission for a 3rd function valve/kit.
What else is there to do on a very snowy day besides spend a little more $

We did it that way for years...
46" dia white oak log...
Now we are hybrid...welded 2 hooks on grapple for the big ones...
Also makes it easy to set big rounds on the splitter

 

That's a stout setup ! Love the welded on hooks . Makes it pretty versatile! What model Kubota do you have there ? Love the big grill guard too. My guess is it is a necessity!

Nice tractor buddy ! Those are a real workhorse! I've heard great things about them ! My Dad has a Grand L3940 of the same vintage. That thing is a Hoss ! I love that size tractor ! 30-40 hp is a great way to go. Your picking up some pretty heavy loads there. Probably doing it with ease too!When something heavy needs moved or pushed...I park the bx...and grab the 40 horse !
With that heavy power rake on back...ive never had it feel unstable.

 

Don't sell that "small" tractor short !
It'll do a bunch of chores...and fit where others can't!

 

No I am not , it does really well for what it is.
For my needs it suits me just fine.
I looked for a used one for years but couldn't find anything unless I wanted to pay through the nose for a used and possibly abused one, so I went new just under a year ago.
Been very happy with it. Now I just want to take it to the next level.

 

I'm glad to hear that. I also hear really good things about the Massey subcompact. They were on my list of potential options...but no dealers close enough to even go look at one
Good luck outfitting it ! I've got an old backblade that I use for snow plowing. A 4ft tiller for the gardens and foodplots...a carryall...and I just was fortunate enough to get a woodland mills stump grinder right as fall turned into winter. Ground probably 12 stumps with ease !
