I am familiar with the Bobcat brand, but I had to look up the Toolcat, I don’t doubt that they are $$$$$

Cool machine, but if they could figure out an over the cab loading, ala garbage truck idea, self loading would make that thing Unbelievable.

I know that self loading would really add $$$$, but would it add as much as a second machine? As much as having to haul 2 machines for a commercial operator? As much as maintaining two machines? Another operator isn’t cheap either

I can definitely see where a self loading option could draw a lot of interest. Sadly, either way it wouldn’t be a machine for me, as much as I would love having a toy like that. We. Are on a .17 acre, NOT 17 Acre, lot in a rural neighborhood. I have trouble making room to season for more than a year’s worth of wood, we heat almost exclusively with wood and burn 8-10 cords a year

If I had large acreage with plenty of my own forest to cut in, I could sure see uses for a Toolcat, especially if a self loader was developed

Does the track option add much maintenance to a Bobcat? I had rented a Bobcat 30 years ago, to clear some property at my first house, which was on a bit over an acre. And I found out the hard way, how easy it is to get a Bobcat STUCK in soft, wet ground. My 1980 F250, 4x4 drug it out ok, but I did quickly learn the limitations of a wheeled skid steer

    Doug

I would be dead in the water without my Kubota RTV 900. My bed is packed with gear. 4-5 saws and all the accessories. I pull a small 8 ft trailer. I’ll take a pic next time I’m out at the property. I need a saw mount/scabbard. Kolpin or SawHaul? Recommendations?

The Rhino has been used for hauling out wood and trail maintenance since 2007 and the RTV has been used for the same since we bought it. I do love the power that the RTV offers when pulling a load of beech up the hills.

I use my Gator CX several times a week. It rarely hauls any wood. I use a skid steer for that task. But all the gear rides in it and gets me to and from the processing center.

I use my quad for wood duty. Either pulling a little trailer to haul or pulling the log arch skidding trees.

My sxs doesn't have a hitch or a bed weight rating. Its all fun, no work.

That's exactly where I'm at these days. I found its easier to haul a grapple full of logs to a central processing/milling site than splitting and hauling from the timber. Less work and less mess. I do run chainsaws around and cut a bunch of logs first. The UTV is nice for having a bed full of tools. The trailer is pretty much obsolete now, but handy when I need it. I would never buy the DR brand again. 20210508_085117.jpg 20211208_105440.jpg

Same here , really bummed about no firewood and no milling.
I just got back out last week and did some cutting after nothing for a while and now snow. Not liking that one bit.

That thing is really cool. Must be a fun toy to cruise around in after a storm.

It's the one that my wife liked (on craigslist) and the guy was willing to take my Harley in a partial trade. I hate to say it, but she was right :D.
