Next time I go to the in-laws farm I have about a 25-30 foot spar that I didn’t have time to drop and back last time I was there. The top blow down in a wind storm the 461 and 261 tool care of that. I didn’t have the 660 with and I know the 28” bar on the 461 wasn’t neatly enough. A 36” would be nice, but probably not enough to justify the cash

I think the newer versions are better on gas and emissions, plus the "C" models have the Mtronic carb. Ive wondered the same about my 460 vs a 461.
Whats next for your saw arsenal DH?

I have a 32" bar that I used to use on my 461 (it's been ported and I put a high-output oiler on it) and honestly that's all I've ever really needed, but the 36" Stihl ES Light bar and some chains (like new) showed up locally for a good deal, so I couldn't pass that up. 32" is a really nice size "big" bar for my woods.

Come on buZZsaw BRAD , I don’t have CAD, no seriously I DONT’T have CAD! Well unless Stihl comes out with a 300i or if a good deal on a used local saw comes out. Other than that I clearly don’t have a problem…

That is a sweet saw, Mike. Get the Max Flow filter for it. That really woke up our 461...

Brand spanking new. Got a decent price from my local shop

Nope. After it's broken in and I have saved up the $$$, it's going to Wisconsin for Scott Kunz (a.k.a. Tree Monkey) for the complete upgrade.

    You mean like this?

Congrats on the new saw! Scott’s semi retired. I’d pick someone else like huskihl or any of the active builders over on ope…

Scott did my MS361 and it is A-mazing! Hope he's still available down the road when it's time to port the new saw. If not, there's lots of good builders out there.
