    My BIL has been doing tree removal for the state the past couple winters. He just texted me and will be dumping off 2 triaxle loads of logs today and tomorrow. No idea what is in there, but don't really care when you are getting free log loads dropped in your yard.

    Caffeine in at 6. TLB plugged in at 7. Workout happening now while I wait 3 hours for CAT 426 to warm up good. Going to use it to clear snow at least today. We only got about 2-1/2 to 3 inches, but if I don’t clean it up and scrape things down it will just get packed down into ice. Maybe I’ll even move some clay/dirt today. If it starts in this cold. Currently -24 according to AccuWeather. -18 according to Weather Channel. Time to enjoy a couple days away from the real job.

    Turned out it didn’t want to start. Several times. But I kept recharging the batteries in place and kept it plugged in. I also realized that didn’t smell the starting aid when I used it. Usually, just after you hit the button in the cab, you smell it. Aha! The canister be empty. So I took a can of starting fluid the next time and just before I turned it over I sprayed a small spray into the breather. Started right up. I scraped the driveways the best I could with crushed stone and along the road where the mail person pulled up and that was it. Too late in the day to start moving dirt. And it isn’t very appealing work with 12-14” of snow on it, and everywhere you want to put it.
