Just plain old miserable! Wind chill here is -30. I'll wait to shovel! I lit off the NC-30, 99 lbs is working a puzzle next to it! This one......
It is supposed to drop to near 0 here tonight. I've been burning apple and beech. Will likely go to all beech for the rest of the day. Maximum btuhs, baby!
I think they make them from Alpaca wool and it is warm. These people live in the mountains so their clothes have to be warm.
Same issue in my insert. Lots of coals. I brought in some pine dimensional lumber pieces to help burn those down. 3° outside wind chill of -13° now. Supposed to get to -9° tonight.
That's what I understand as well. I have always heard that alpaca wool is the warmest there is. Just found out why as well. Apparently Alpaca wool is completely hollow inside, unlike sheep wool that only has pockets of air inside and not completely hollow.
12F here with 0 predicted. Boiler & shop stove both burning a Beech & Oak mix. Guaranteed to be same temp in the am as now, mid 70's. Barring a disaster of some sort course. Had just a dusting of fresh snow to make it look very nice today. About 4" overnight. Great winter so far!
Only 8:30 and it's -15, gonna be a cold night. Loaded the OWB with the last load of my 24" red oak splits with some maple.
Down to 20 tonight. Not as cold as most of you and I feel your pain. Stay warm. Red oak in the Lopi Endeavor Mike in Okla
Single digit overnight. Wondering if I put enough wood in. A mix of seasoned, recent cut poplar and some chunkies. Always love saving and burning the odd-ball unstackable. Making use of what would be discarded
