Congratulations on retirement. Enjoy, pace yourself, make time for some of the things that through life you have said maybe someday when I have time and fully immerse yourself in them. Not to go political because both sides are as guilty as the other, but the way things are going and the government keeps spending and going further in debt I firmly believe I will finally be able to start enjoying retirement about the same time lunch is being served after my memorial service.

Congratulations my good friend. Now this time let's make the retirement stick! Yes, we've talked about this before...

I've been retired so long I don't know what I did specifically but for sure I spent a lot more time with my wife and we both enjoyed that a lot. We also did more travelling. We had a very happy life together.

Ha I’ve got almost 3 years stashed in the basement and double that at Dad’s and my Son’s.
I’m working on getting logs to run thru the chainsaw mill.

    Congratulations!

I’m fortunate to have a job I love and would probably do for free if I could afford it, but I don’t think I could work under anyone else but my current boss, so when he’s done I’ll probably be done.

Good luck with the retirement. I went to work part time for another 15 yrs after I retired from my job at the VA and from the Army Reserves. I was just getting into the swing of it when I fell down the stairs and really injured my leg. In a instant, life as I would know it changed. Limited mobility and pain, and now age, dictates that I have to find other things to be involved in. The one big thing I would tell everybody who retires is NOT to isolate from society. Get involved in something that requires a commitment so you will stick to it. Things like this forum helps me alot. I really like the folks on here. We have become good friends. Volunteer at something worth while. Like a food bank. Many other social needs out there.
