A friend of mine at work told me about a tree in the town where he lives, about 20 miles from us. Had a chance Thursday evening to meet him and check it out. It hit the house that is to the right of the picture. Somebody had been cutting on it, must have gotten all they wanted. I think I need amateur cutter and The Wood Wolverine help on this monster It's on a hill, we gonna have to be careful with the tractor.

Some decent wood to be had though. Wild looking trunk. Always fun with the logistics of hoarding. Best of luck with it.
Great score. You can tell it must’ve been a beautiful old shade tree with large sprawling limbs while it was still standing.
That looks like fun from here. I don't generally get a lot of white oak but did haul a fair amount several years ago from cleaning a logging area of tree tops. Last winter I burnt 5 or 6 year old white oak during the real cold of winter.
