Where do the red wires go?

I have a four year old ETQ 1800i inverter generator ( seems to be the same as the Generac at the time ). Started it up and no juice to the outlets. Opened the front panel and saw two loose red wires. Here is a pic of the outlet? Anyone know where they belong??

 

The top 4 holes are empty, the outside bottom holes are also empty. The inside bottom holes have black wires in them that is split from that yellow and green wire

 

Do you have a tester you could check all of the different possibilities with?

 

Maybe you could Google a schematic?

 

Ugh, my geni is still in the shipping container. I'm going to get one of my sons to set it up. Hope I never need it!

The couple generators I've worked on used whatever they felt like for wire color, nothing standard.

 

Yeah, I do. But not being an electrician I don't want to do anything I will regret.

 

This is from the Generac, looks virtually identical to me.

 

Got a gen guy near you? This must be similar to our Honda 2000 watt inverter gen. Honda dealer?

 

There is a small engine guy near by that may be able to help out.

 

I think gen guys are also engine guys, but engine guys are not always into gens. But, if he couldn't help he might know someone who could.

 

I have a small Generac inverter generator, could take a look later if your still in a jam.

It is good practice to run these every couple of weeks. Sitting is not good for generators, even brand new ones.

 

Ihate, this is the front of the panel and the back. My unit has 2 red wires running to the 20a outlet.
