I had one, it burned out. Individual LEDs would turn black and go out until I just didn't trust it anymore and threw it out. It was one of those Amazon's choice deals. I have the 4' LED shop lights now, working great so far....
We have some of those in the shop at work and they put out way way more light then just your average single flood light installed in the same fixture. They are about 12-14' up also. No idea on brand, lumen output or where they were bought from.
I haven't tried any, but I need something for the heat appliance room that covers better than the single light bulb that is of to one side. I thought this would be great, then I ran into a GE model that has a motion sensor and you can adjust the lumen setting between 3k, 5k or 8k. The GE model seems to have all good ratings.
I like them in my garage and barn. My wife didn’t like how bright the laundry closet was so I put one in there. Plenty of light now!
Cree has a huge LED plant in China. I don't think they have any products that are COMPLETELY made in USA but many are assembled here. I think the only COMPLETELY manufactured LED bulb left is one Sylvania bulb made in Maryland or Virginia or Pennsylvania someplace mid-Atlantic.
A guy I know bought some awhile back (2 years?) and really likes them. that is how I found out about them.
WelderDave most of the light fixtures at lowes are knockoff lights components are cheaper I tried one of those lights it failed within 6 months I went to a regular electric store and bought a fixture from them it was a 4 ft led fixture with a diffuser just led strips no bulbs it has been working for 2 years in the shop very bright I will look up the name of the light if I can find receipt JB
I found one of these last evening in Lowes, It's made by Utilitech and has 8000 lumens. It was on sale for $19.99. *NOTE* I picked up every dam box that had LEDs in it and ALL said made in China. Yes, thats sad but what are we gonna do? I hate this but we sold ourselves out to China. I put this in my little shop last night and turned on the lights, It is STUPID bright!!! Lucky I don't look up because it's blinding. Now I can read the fine print in my books and cases with just my glasses. It also has a 5 year warranty. Time will tell but, Dam did it get bright in there!
Ok, thats correct also. The'yre making lights for $2.00 an hour and the average Union worker is making $30.00. That's why we have Chinese light bulbs!
I'm only in the shop a few hours at a time when working and only in and out when getting a tool or such. If I get a couple years out of it, for $20.00, I'm not gonna get upset with it and run back for a new one. Frankly, I'm not expecting it to last 5 years either. I did like the 4' tubes but they would usually crap out at when I was needing them. Then, the pain in the A$$ getting rid of them.
